Ivy lost 37 pounds | black weight loss success

Transformation of the Day: Ivy lost 37 pounds. After a car accident in 2019, she found herself depressed and doing a lot of emotional eating, which led to quick weight gain. She found the motivation to change her mindset, change her eating habits and commit to an effective workout routine.

What was your motivation?

I was in a car accident in 2019, and this led me to go into a depression. I constantly ate my emotions and gained over 42 pounds in less than three months. I recommitted myself to using Herbalife in May 2020, but I still wasn’t focused. I was still eating everything. I prayed and knew I had to change my mindset. June 2020 came with another challenge, and I found the motivation to change, mind, body, and soul.

What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?

What inspired me to keep going was the support that I received from my Herbalife community. Our challenges are not about competition but about being a supportive, uplifting, encouraging community, as we cheered each other on every day.

How did you change your eating habits?

I drink two shakes a day and have a healthy meal. I also drink plenty of water. I’m an Herbalife coach, and I believe in my products as this is not a diet. The products give me the nutrients that we lack every day, and I have more energy.

What is your workout routine? How often do you workout?

My workout routine includes Barre class, boxing, HIIT workouts, or cardio kickboxing workouts. I also work out with my daughter, who trains me.

I exercise three-four times a week. My workout days are Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and every other Tuesday. The rest of the week, I stretch, relax and refocus.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?

My starting weight was 246 pounds, and my current weight is 208.9 pounds. I lost over 35 pounds in 5 1/2 mths, and I’ve gained 6 pounds of lean muscle.

What is your height?

My height 5’2″.

How long did your transformation take?

I started in May 2020, and I saw my biggest weight loss in January 2021 when I reached 206.8 pounds.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?

No, I did not have weight loss surgery.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?

I learned to change my mindset and only think positive, be positive, and speak positively. This has allowed me to shine and go further than I could have ever imagined.

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?

Saying yes to yourself can, in turn, change lives. Also, never compare yourself to what other people are doing or their progress because that is the biggest distraction.
