How To Make Beef Tenderloin With Herbed Garlic Butter

An easy way to make tenderloin of beef extra juicy. You can also use the herbed butter in other dishes too!

Ingredients

2¼ pound beef tenderloin pre-trimmed and tied

2 tablespoons olive oil

5 tablespoons unsalted butter unsalted softened

2 tablespoons fresh chopped rosemary

2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley

Salt and pepper to taste

2 teaspoons minced garlic

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.

2. Season the beef tenderloin all over with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium high heat, and sear the meat for a few minutes on each side.

4. Mix together the butter, herbs and garlic, and rub the mixture all over the outside of the seared beef tenderloin.

5. Place the meat into an oven-safe skillet and bake for 25-35 minutes depending on the size of your meat and your desired level of doneness. Let the meat rest for 10 minutes when removed from the oven before you slice and serve. Internal temperatures are as follows: Rare: 120-125, Medium: 140-145, Well Done: 160+

Notes

Before you slice or serve the meat, take it out of the oven and let it sit for 10 minutes. This step is just as important as cooking it because it allows the cooking to finish throughout the meat slowly.

Trim off the extra fat before cooking the meat. It will make it easier to eat and help the meat cook more effectively.

If you use salted butter, don’t add more salt to the butter. It doesn’t need a whole bunch of salt because it already has an incredible flavor.

This is the perfect meat to cut up and use throughout the week in your meal prep. Slice it and store it in airtight containers in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to 5 days!
