Transformation of the Day: Kami lost 80 pounds. She felt hopeless and was avoiding mirrors and photos. By leaning on her faith in God and making this process a real lifestyle change, she figured out what works for her. She adopted a Keto diet and has gone from jogging to running three miles a day.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?

I felt hopeless. My biggest motivation was that I would consciously avoid mirrors and pictures. I got to the point where I had enough. After failed attempts, I felt completely overwhelmed. I decided that this journey had to be spiritual as much as it would be physical. Asking GOD for guidance, strength, energy, and self-discipline daily is what ultimately brought me here.

How did you change your eating habits?

I initially just lowered my caloric intake. I found a great calorie-counting website that allows me to get a good idea of how many calories a day I could intake. After successfully losing 20 pounds, I was introduced to the Keto diet. My daily net carb intake varied from 17-20 grams. This is considered intense, but if you find the right snacks and foods, you won’t feel deprived at all. Also, I drink only drink zero-calorie drinks, coffee, and water, for the most part. I have diet soda occasionally and maybe an ICE drink now and then.
