MarNita lost 101 pounds. By going Keto, joining a black women’s walking group, and focusing on fitness, she has changed her life. She has several accomplishments, including becoming a Certified Keto Coach and a Fitness Instructor.

When did you start your weight loss journey?


I started my weight loss journey four years ago. Four years later, I’m a Certified Keto Coach, Xtreme Hip Hop Instructor, Fitness Trainer, Marathoner, and my heart is pure.


What was your motivation?


After being diagnosed with thyroid issues, depression, PTSD, and Pancreatitis, I had to make a change.


How did you change your eating habits?


I’m two years into a keto lifestyle change. I’ve eliminated all bad carbs.


What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?


I became active with a walking group for Black Women called Girltrek. Since then, I’ve fell in love with running, and now I’m officially a marathoner. My workouts include running, weight training, and Xtreme Hip Hop.


What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?


My starting weight was 289 pounds, and now I’m at 188 pounds.


What is your height?

I stand 5’6 inches tall.


What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?


The biggest lesson is healing old wounds. My weight gain happened because I wasn’t happy with myself or my life. Once I learned how to forgive and let go, the true transformation came.


What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?


Everyone’s journey is different so never compare yourself to others. Do YOU and have your own goals.
