The viewers of 'Live! With Kelly and Ryan' have been seeing the same Kelly Ripa in all of her 20 years with the show, she's not changed much. As beautiful as ever, the 50-year-old co-host seems to be defying her years. For a woman of her age, she's done incredibly well to maintain her youth, which we can assure you, comes with a lot of work.

In terms of her physique, Kelly's been doing well to maintain her slim figure; we've never seen her ever bulking up in her entire 20-year period with 'Live! with Kelly and Ripa.' And this has been a topic of interest for most of the show's audiences, who also aspire to keep their body shape in check all the time. So, how was she able to do it? Let's find out.

Many People Ask How Kelly Ripa Underwent Weight Loss But She Didn't

Many people are curious to know how Kelly Ripa underwent weight loss to attain the physique she is in, but in fact, she did not lose weight. She's always been conscious of her health and always managed to maintain her body weight through a balanced diet and regular exercise. That's it, it's that simple. But to succeed in doing simple things too, one needs to be dedicated and committed to the act. Kelly never shied away from keeping her body weight in check, and she always followed healthier routines to maintain a fit body shape.

Both Kelly and her husband lead healthy lifestyles, and that's been quite a good motivation for her to continue her healthier routines. And their children are also following the same. 'We sort of lead by example in our lives,' she told Good Morning America, as per Hello Magazine. 'We've always made healthy offerings in terms of food and snacks in our house, and we always sort of lived in an active household.'

Diet has been a major factor that has helped Kelly maintain a slim figure all her adult life. The fact that she and her husband quit alcohol three years ago proves that the couple has set out on a completely healthy road. 'We live a healthy lifestyle. We did both quit drinking almost three years ago,' she told Parade in 2020. 'Not that we were sitting around drinking day and night, but I think that there is something about like clean living—maybe that's what did it. Maybe that's the difference.'

Kelly Ripa's Diet Routine's Just Healthy Food Items and That's the Key

Kelly Ripa follows a particular type of diet called an alkaline diet, which keeps the body's pH levels low. Those food items are not acidic and have very low sugar content. The alkaline diet nearly resembles a vegan diet, but the science behind why such a diet is healthy is not understood yet.

Kelly eats clean, has said that she eats simple meals like a sliced chicken breast with sautéed spinach, lemon, and olive oil. 'I eat a very clean diet,' she told ABC News in 2014. 'I have lots of vegetables, I eat protein, but I really don't put a ton of thought into it. It's everything you've read about or heard about in any diet book – don't eat too much crap, and I don't.'

Another thing that includes Kelly's diet routine is that she does not eat in the morning and only does so after the taping of 'Live! With Kelly and Ryan.' 'I never eat breakfast until after the show,' she told Bon Appétit. 'At the host chat desk, I'll have a triple shot skim latte... I find that if I eat beforehand, I'm just making digesting sounds.'

Kelly Ripa Also Works Out

Kelly Ripa has not been maintaining her body weight through proper diet only. She also exercises regularly to burn extra calories in her body. Her workout routine includes running, SoulCycle classes, and the AKT method's cardio-strength classes. She's trained with AKT's founder Anna Kaiser for a long time now, and that has helped her immensely.

Kelly Ripa even incorporated ballet in her workouts. According to her trainer Anna, they do arm workouts on a ballet bar, alternating between pulsing in a half plank and pushing off the bar for a power move. To talk about Kelly's workout routine, Women's Health Magazine wrote that she works out at least four times a week, usually with Kaiser, for 60 to 90-minute sessions.
